Flood Mapping Latest Council Meeting (June 4th)
7.6.2026
Some discussion at the latest Special Council Meeting around the Flood Mapping overlays, was a start and the small change has allowed some residence some grace. However, policy does not discount process, here at the LCA, we have grave concerns that the process and the data show inconsistencies based on the peer reviews. We support the objective of improving community safety, strengthening flood resilience, and ensuring future development appropriately responds to flood risk. The decisions made through this process will have long- lasting consequences for thousands of Logan residents and will shape Logan’s future for decades. It is therefore essential that both Councillors and Council Officers are supported by the most accurate and defensible information available, balanced policy settings, and genuine partnership with the community. Therefore, we are asking them to meet or discuss with us.
- We have written to both Councillors, and Deputy Premier
- We have had responses from some Councillors
- We have met with some Councillors with our findings as of the 6.6.2026
- We are asking council and state to use the LCA report (gathered through our RTI of all associated reviews), to best inform next steps with regards to TLPI and planning process for residents
